Human mummy of an adult female at the Museum of Mummies, Quinto Aragon, Spain. The mummy is estimated to have a height of 159 cm and approximately 35 years old. This mummy was buried wearing a habit made of brown wool cloth, belonging to the Order of Saint Francis. Under her clothing, over her heart, she wore a scapular of Jesus Nazareno Rescatado (Christ of Medinaceli) with the red and blue cross of the Order of the Barefoot Trinitarians. According to the documentation consulted (book of the dead), she was born in Alca駃z (Arag髇), but lived in Madrid and died in Quinto. She drank the waters in Quinto, due to its medicinal properties and mostly likely died from a haemorrhage. Whilst working on this mummy, she was wearing a gauze tightly knotted at her waist and, under said gauze, a piece of cloth, which was probably placed as a poultice. We verified that she presented a tear of the vaginal introitus and a uterine prolapse with exposure of the cervix (uterine neck), as a result of the destructuring of the pelvic floor. CT images of the mummy showed a large amount of dehydrated stool in the rectum, as this woman most likely suffered from chronic constipation. In one of these samples, an intact grape seed was found inside.
