A Canine "Cop" -- "Harvey" a magnificent Alsatian seen being put through his paces at the Keston Training School, while his handler P.C. Brown of Uxbridge, looks on approvingly. On his first duty, Harvey made an arrest and now has four to his credit. One answer to the shortage of manpower in the Metropolitan Police Force, is the employment of dogpower - and answer which has given every satisfaction. These now famous police dogs perform a variety of duties, their main job being to detect and detain criminals, but they are also trained for security work, and to assist their handlers on ordinary beat duties, in the recovery of stolen property, Anti-Hooliganism and also, by their more presence in an area, as a deterrent to crime.
