NETSUKE: PALACE WITH DREAMING ROSEI.
Japan. Edo Period. 1st half of the 19th century.

Ivory. In so-called sukashi-bori a multi-storey and multi-wing compound on a cloudy base shows in a very finely; partly undercut relief the dreaming Rosei on a kang in a cave-like niche with a fan in his hand. H.2;7; B.3;8cm. Sign.: Kagetoshi on rectangular reserve; Ky魌o; famous for this kind of compositions. Condition A/B.
