Tito Flavio DOMIZIANO (24 October 51 - 18 September 96) Roman emperor from 14 September 81; he ordered the second Christian persecution. He was assassinated in a Senate conspiracy and suffered the "damnatio memoriae". "Domitianus Cesar Augustu"; decoration in bas-relief from the band depicting famous characters of antiquity and mythological themes; inspired by the medals of the Roman era; carved on the base of the facade of the basilica of the Certosa di Pavia; a typical example of Lombard Renaissance architecture of the fifteenth century.
