Strip of bobbin lace with zigzag pendulum above an edge with s-volutes; Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen side. The pattern along the upper half of the strip consists of a slightly irregular zig-zag thin pendulum; with leaves on either side. The zizag valleys are alternately cut over by a loose flower basket with a rosette flower between leaves or by a large leaf that springs from the pattern that fills the lower half of the strip. This pattern consists of two different; lying s-volutes with incised leaves; feather leaves and clusters of three rosette flowers. The s-volutes are linked to each other and alternate alternately. The motifs are connected by a nice mesh ground; a Mechelen ground. The full work is largely made in linen stroke and very limited in net stroke; with thicker and shiny contour threads. Ornamental soils have been applied in and around the s-volutes; including a snowflake soil and a soil decorated with pulpes made in shaping. The top of the strip is finished with a separately clotted strap. The irregular shell edge along the underside of the strip follows the pattern and is provided with picots.; anonymous; Belgium (possibly); c. 1900 - c. 1914; linen (material); Mechlin (lace); l 175 cm x w 9 cm x; 13.4 cm
