The handkerchief is finished all round with a border of natural-colored ribbon lace (mixed lace): Luxury owl lace; with a clasped ribbon and needle lace fillings. The symmetrical pattern consists of a heart-shaped pattern at the corners and a sunflower in the center of each side; the contours of which are formed by a narrowly woven ribbon. Between the heart and sunflower a deeply incised and pointed leaf that ends diagonally from the corners to the outside near the sunflower. Decorative grounds are used within the contours with which the motifs are formed (needle lace). The motifs are connected by a bar ground (needle side).
