HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY The Italian magistrate Mario Sossi (February 6; 1932 - December 6; 2019); Public Prosecutor in the trial of the XXII October Group; photographed by the kidnappers of the Red Brigades who kidnapped him in Genoa on April 18; 1974. The brigatists had bound the release of the hostage to the release of 8 terrorists of the XXII October group; but the negotiation died in the bud because none of the designated countries (Cuba; Algeria; North Korea) agreed to offer political asylum to the eventually freed terrorists. The judge was however released into Milan on 23 May. Newspaper clipping; Italy 1974
