Common Kestrel perched on a fencepost. The common, or Eurasian, kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is found throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. It is found anywhere there is open land for hunting. It is diurnal, and hunts during the day for birds and small animals, and also supplements its diet with worms and insects.
