Timelapse footage of cirrus uncinus clouds, also called mares' tails. The characteristic hooked shape is due to falling ice crystals in wind shear. These are very high altitude clouds, typically forming above 7000 metres, and are usually indicative of an approaching warm front, meaning rain will follow. Filmed in Colorado, USA, in summer.
