The scale runs from white (warmest), through yellow, orange, red and purple to blue (coldest). This rodent is native to South America. It has been introduced to Europe, North America and Asia, where it has become well established. In most regions it is now considered a pest. This footage shows the coypu entering and swimming in water. It is radiating body heat and shows up as warmer than the water it is swimming in.
