The scale runs from white (warmest), through yellow, orange, red and purple to blue (coldest). A colour-coded temperature scale is at right, ranging from less than 300 degrees Celsius (dark blue) to over 340 degrees Celsius (white). The stove is opened during the clip, showing the heat (bright yellow) being generated by the burning of wood. The handle is cooler.
