Hubble Space Telescope views of the spiral galaxy M100, taken before first and after the servicing mission to correct its optics. The first images from Hubble revealed that there was a problem with the design of its main mirror, so corrective instruments were designed to correct the flaw, and fitted during a series of spacewalks. The operation was a success, as seen by the markedly improved clarity of the later image. M100 is a grand design spiral galaxy some 55 million light years away from Earth, in the constellation Coma Berenices.brRestrictions:
