Timelapse footage of a spectacular display of the aurora borealis, or northern lights, over Lapland in northern Sweden. This 360-degree panoramic timelapse clip was made when a rare aurora storm appeared in the high-latitude skies in March 2012. The motion displays magnificent aurora corona in several scenes. When aurorae are very active they often display the most beautiful form known as the corona. It appears near the zenith and its form and colors can change in seconds. When bright, it can easily cast a shadow. The aurora is produced by the collision of high-energy charged particles carried from the Sun by the solar wind, with the atoms and molecules in Earth's upper atmosphere.
