Western desert tarantula (Aphonopelma chalcodes), also known as the Arizona blond tarantula and Mexican blond tarantula, making its way across forest floor dragging silk behind it. Hunting spiders like tarantulas don't build webs but will use silk to capture prey, sometimes setting traps as this one could be doing. Members of this species have legspans reaching 10 cm and are found in the southwestern US and parts of Mexico.
