TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) biopsy procedure. This procedure is used to excise tissue from the inner part (core) of the prostate to treat the symptoms of urethral obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate) or prostate cancer. In this external view of the procedure, the surgeon manoeuvres the resectoscope at various angles as he excises the prostate tissue.
