Single stroke lightning strike at night. Single strokes feature a continuing current, which generates much higher temperatures than flickering multi-stroke lightning, and is more likely to cause fires and other damage. This is likely to be a positive lighting stroke, one from the top of a thundercloud rather than the bottom, which may be many times stronger than the more common negative lightning. Filmed in Colorado, USA, in summer.
