Tracking shot past a closed and an open trap of a Venus flytrap plant (Dionaea muscipula). This plant has developed traps that snap shut around insects that enter them, closing and digesting the trapped prey. It does this to extract nutrients that are absent or scarce in the wet boggy soils in which it lives.
